Canon 60Da

Canon EOS 60Da is called and a new version of the semi-professional Canon SLR designed specifically for astrophotography. The car features a modified low-pass filter that makes it more sensitive to hydrogen-alpha wavelengths and thus able to capture the rich colors of red wines produced from the nebulae.

This Canon 60Da follows, for the rest, the specifications of the Canon EOS 60D (compact, 18 megapixel CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 14 bit, high ISO range, expandable up to 6,400 ISO to 12,800 ISO) and is the heir the 20Da. The 60Da is ideal for shooting astronomical phenomena such as diffuse nebulae, one of the favorite subjects among astrophotographers for the distinct red color caused by the ionization of hydrogen.

In a standard SLR, the filter infrared (IR) limits the amount of light radiation in H_ banda that reaches the camera sensor to avoid unwanted color artifacts in the final image. EOS 60Da has a new modified filter that offers three times more transparent to the range than the EOS 60D H_ hence.

Canon EOS 60Da is compatible with optional timer remote Timer Remote Controller TC-80N31, a programmable remote trigger control that allows adjustment of the settings without interfering with the camera position. TC-80N3 provides the flexibility to capture images remotely selecting custom intervals or long exposures, ideal for shooting time-lapse movies of the night skies. The adapter a.c. ACK-E6 comes standard allows continuous shooting using the power (ideal for long exposures), while the EOS Utility software lets you control the camera settings, or view the live image from a PC or Mac connected via the USB port.

Compatible with the most complete set of interchangeable lenses in the world, from 8 mm to 800 mm, the Canon EOS 60da will be available from late April 2012 at a price of around 1,422 euros including VAT (body only).
